Job Openings PROFESSIONAL NURSE About the job PROFESSIONAL NURSE VACANCY: JOINT MEDICAL HOLDINGS DIVISION: DURDOC HOSPITAL- MEDICAL WARD JOB TITLE: PROFESSIONAL NURSE PURPOSE OF POSITION Understands and support the mission, vision and values of the organisation. Promote the health, welfare and safety of all patients in the origination. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS · Work strictly within the SANC defined Scope of Practice. (R686 and R2598) · You must be able to practice within your scope of practice as a Registered nurse. · Must be competent with the hospital's Policies and Regulations · Ability to lead and supervise staff · Attend to patient care within the Ward · Adhere to legal, health, safety, infection control and clinical standards. · Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and resource management. · Provide supervision, guidance and support to staff within the unit. · Attend to patient's complaints. COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Educational Qualifications & Experience) Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse. Good interpersonal skills with doctors, patients and colleagues is essential. Preferably have two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to workday and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays and adapt to working in other areas of the hospital when needed. Must possess excellent inter-personal skills. Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision. SKILLS (Practical & Technical) Effective clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Able to prioritise and work well under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Effective organisational and time management skills. Basic computer literacy. Job Openings POST BASIC PHARMACIST ASSISTANT x2 About the job POST BASIC PHARMACIST ASSISTANT x2 DIVISION: DURDOC HOSPITAL- PHARMACY JOB TITLE: POST BASIC PHARMACIST ASSISTANT x2 PURPOSE OF POSITION The incumbent will be responsible to fulfil the scope of practise of a post basic pharmacist assistant. Nursing activities form part of a nursing regime that is planned and initiated by the Registered Nurse. The incumbent is held accountable for his/her own acts and omissions. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Ensure that all documentation is maintained timeously and accurately, reflecting patient care. Ensure stock is controlled. Implement governance, quality and risk management Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards. Responsible for the care of equipment. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Acts in a supervisory capacity over ENA's. Contribute to the holistic care of patients. Participate in ward/unit's quality improvement programme. Practice the principles of infection prevention and Health & Safety, and report risks identified. Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors. Personal and professional development to maintain a satisfactory level of skill and knowledge. Build and maintain stakeholder relationships Develop collaborative relationships and actively participate as a team member to accomplish work goals. Practice within the scope of practice as an Enrolled Nurse. Competent with the Hospital's Policies and Regulations. Attend to patient's complaints and escalate promptly as required. Must be able to provide safe, quality patient care within the ward/unit. Comply with SANC and stakeholder legislation. COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Educational Qualifications & Experience) Must be registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse with valid APC. Preferably have two or more years of experience as an Enrolled Nurse in a hospital setting. Experience in surgical ward will be advantageous. Must be prepared to do shift work (Night shift / Day Shift). Must be computer literate – MS Word & Excel. Good interpersonal skills with doctors, patients and colleagues are essential. SKILLS (Practical & Technical) Must have excellent telephone skills. Must possess excellent inter-personal skill. Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision. Excellent observation skills.
