Job description
This position demonstrates ownership for the store by maximising store productivity and profitability through team building and staff development and goal attainment. The Store Manager develops and plans to achieve sales and productivity goals, and closely supports the Retail Manager to evaluate market information and create strategies that can impact store results. The Store Manager leads by example, sets the tone for the store, and provides feedback to their team that will result in more efficient, productive, and profitable stores that exceed our standardsResponsibilitiesNETWORK & CLIENT MANAGEMENTTo develop and promote a loyal clientele according to the sales and brand strategy (client-telling)Ambassador for the brand within his/her market, being responsible for the stores external relations within its competitive environment – marketing, merchandising, local activities etc.Market studies (competitors, customers etc.)DETERMINATION OF THE “SUCCESSFUL STORE” OBJECTIVESDefining the annual sales targets/budget/forecastDetermine and monitor objectives and sales targets according to budget/forecasts on a daily, weekly and monthly basisOptimizing the store contributionEnsuring the fair and efficient rostering of staff with the aim of maximising the use of manpower on the floor; in particular during peak sales periods e.g. weekends, promotions etc.Maintaining the optimised staff to customer ratio, making sure that customers are looked after appropriatelyOptimizing and managing personnel costs and keeping in line with the set budgetMonitoring all expenses and costs within the store in order to achieve positive store contribution and be in line with the set budget objectivePushing ongoing growth of the store’s turnoverMaintenance of store in line with budget requirementsIdentifying store investments and making appropriate suggestions to the RODManaging store operations: Replenishment, regular and year-end inventories, visual merchandising, etc.Health, safety and security regulations: Ongoing control of store security, compliance with procedures.Pro-activity on store attributionManaging administration tasks and reportingGuarantee financial results of the store through effective management of margins, stock and personnel costsLEADERSHIP & STAFF MANAGEMENTMaking sure that Client Advisor / Senior Client Advisor / Team Leader profiles match accordingly to the sales and brand strategyTaking ongoing actions around motivation the team according to the sales and brand strategy and acting as their mentorRecruitment, evaluation and career development of Management Team and Client Advisors / Senior Client Advisors in cooperation with the regional ROD and HRCompliance with Grooming StandardsTraining and development of the Client Advisors / Senior Client Advisors in order to achieve best business resultsGuarantee an optimum relay of information within the store and an excellent and transparent ascending and descending communication flowSTOCK MANAGEMENTAssist in inventory management. Ensure stock rooms are kept neat and tidy always; stock should be kept in appropriate order for ease of access when serving customersEnsure all stock transfers into and out of the store are properly recorded to minimize stock lossStock loss is kept to the minimum.REPORTS TO: Retail ManagerRequirementsExperience:3 – 5 years previous store manager experience in a retail service environment. Preferably within the luxury retail industry.Must be a strong sales & managerial backgroundEducation:School Certificate or equivalent. Degree preferred.Technical:Knowledge of cash register systems. Basic computer skills, including:Microsoft ExcelMicrosoft WordMicrosoft OutlookPhysical:Ability to meet moderate stockroom lifting requirements and store climbing requirements.Ability to manoeuvre sales floor.Ability to clean displays to ensure professional presentationCommunication:Excellent command of English. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team membersSchedule:Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business; including nights, weekends and public holidays.
