Role Overview
TheSoftware Configuration Coordinatoris accountable forplanning, coordinating, and governing software changes and releasesacross the enterprise landscape. This role ensures changes are promoted in acontrolled, compliant, and risk-aware mannerby partnering with development, Basis, enhancement, testing, and release teams.
This position is highlyprocess-drivenand requires experience withSAP Solution Manager(ChaRM, Enhanced Retrofits, Focused Build, Solution Documentation) andSAP Transport Management System (STMS). The role is critical to maintaining system stability and enabling timely, high-quality releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and governsoftware releases and transport movementsacross the SAP landscape
- Manage and oversee end-to-endChange Request Management (ChaRM)activities
- Review, analyze, and remediatetransport conflicts and retrofit issuesprior to production promotions
- Ensure adherence torelease, change, and transport management processes
- Coordinate withglobal, cross‑functional teams(Basis, Development, Testing, Business) to align on release readiness
- Monitor dependencies and interrelationships among SAP modules to mitigate risk
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑datesolution and release documentation
- Support governance forums by providingrelease status, risk assessments, and impact analysis
- Enforce process compliance while enabling timely delivery of business changes
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of theSoftware Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Hands‑on experience with:
- SAP Solution Manager(ChaRM, Enhanced Retrofits, Focused Build, Solution Documentation)
- SAP Transport Management System (STMS)
- Experience withIT Service Management tools(e.g., ServiceNow)
- Knowledge ofITIL Service, Change, and Release Management practices
- Ability to lead and influencecross‑functional, multi‑location teams
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills
- Able to managemultiple parallel releases and prioritieswith clear communication and effective organization
- Proficiency in English business language required
