Senior Product Manager - Business Data Analysis

DatadogNew YorkSenior

Job description

Datadog helps technical teams understand their systems. More and more, those teams want to know what a problem costs the business. Today the business context for that answer typically sits in a data warehouse. We want to equip customers to answer this question directly in Datadog.

We're bringing business data into Datadog. You'll start with owning the Datadog SQL (DDSQL) and Sheets products. DDSQL lets people query across their Datadog data in SQL, and Sheets gives them a spreadsheet to pivot, look up, and calculate on that data without writing a query.

Once you have a handle, you will grow into building out a strategy and execution plan for bringing business data into Datadog. This encompasses data warehouse connections, schema discovery, semantic encoding, and new visualization. As this initiative grows, you will explore new capabilities that can be built using both warehouse and telemetry data in one platform.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What you'll do:

  • Lead SQL and Sheets end to end, growing them into the main way customers query Datadog and warehouse data
  • Define how customers connect their warehouses and join that data to Datadog telemetry, with the access controls and performance that make it usable at scale
  • Build reusable metrics and joins so teams can build on each other's work instead of starting over
  • Bring business data into our AI agent Bits so operational investigations can draw on customer and revenue context
  • Make analysis easy to organize and distribute, from folders and tags to scheduled reports
  • Partner with design to set a high bar for information architecture and visual polish in complex analytical workflows
  • Use customer research and product analytics to find what keeps teams from doing this work in Datadog today, then improve discovery and onboarding

Who you are:

  • You have strong UI and UX judgment across information architecture, interaction patterns, progressive disclosure, and the edge cases that make complex tools feel simple
  • You are hands-on with data analysis tools and use them to answer your own product questions
  • You are game to lead ambiguous work
  • You can work with engineers on query engines, schemas, joins, storage, performance, and access controls
  • You communicate clearly and build alignment across engineering, design, go-to-market teams, and executives
  • 5+ years of product management experience

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of our product and space
  • Continuous career development and pathing opportunities for internal mobility
  • Intradepartmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups)
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan
  • Free global mental health benefit through Spring Health
  • Generous global benefits

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
