As an Oracle Database Engineer (DBA) you will plan, coordinate and administer database functions, documentation, upgrades, lifecycle, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and data protection. In this role you will regularly work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will keep the database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end-users. ## Responsibilities: * Ensure performance, security, and availability of all databases / Implement common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc. * Investigate and fix database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance degradation. * Collaborate with development teams to design efficient and scalable database structures. * Provide timely resolution and root cause analysis for incidents. * Collaborate with multi-functional teams to support application development. * Provide technical guidance and support to developers and end-users / Prepare SOE and Runbook documentation and specifications. * Participate in setting objectives, strategies, plans, programs, performance standards/measures and procedures. * Follow Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) procedures/compliance for SOX in-scope databases. ## Minimum Qualifications: * B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines, or equivalent work experience. * At least 8 years of related experience in managing Oracle databases at versions 19c & 23ai. * Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills. * Good communication and collaboration abilities. * Ability to plan resource requirements from high-level specifications. * Apply knowledge and experience in implementation and maintenance of large-scale OLTP and OLAP systems in critical environments including, but not limited to, Oracle Multitenant, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Partitioning, Oracle Data pump, Oracle Internet Directory and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM). * Hands-on experience in Oracle Database Performance Tuning. * Solid experience in database upgrades and host migrations. Preferred Qualifications: * Proactive and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of database related issues in support of critical day-to-day business operations. * Solid experience in RMAN backup, restore & recovery. * Ability to work in a constantly evolving environment and willingness to learn other database technologies (Oracle, InfluxDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.). * Experience with Ansible automation to provision and manage database environments. * Experience in designing and automating repetitive processes. * Good hands-on scripting, preferably with PowerShell on Linux. * Basic understanding of PL/SQL stored procedures and packages is a plus. * Oracle Certified Associate, Professional or Master (OCA, OCP, OCM) certification is a plus. ## Database Administrator E3 Relocation Level: TBD Before Getting Started Please review Micron’s Internal Job Application Policy on your regional PeopleNow Career Opportunities page before searching and applying for jobs.
