FACILITY INFORMATION
  • No. of Beds in Department: 20 ED beds
  • EMR System: Epic
  • Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalist, OB, General Surgery, Urology, ENT; transfer for Peds, Cardiology, GI, Ortho
  • Support Staff Available: APPs (22 hrs/day), nursing staff
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
  • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Family Medicine (ABFM) or Internal Medicine (ABIM)
  • Licenses: Active TN Medical License, DEA with TN address (schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5)
  • DEA / CDS: DEA with TN address required
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS (NRP required for non-ABEM providers)
  • Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine or relevant specialty
  • Other Qualifications: Case logs for last 2 years; Preeclampsia-Eclampsia CME required; documentation of MMR/Varicella immunity; Two-Step TB test within 12 months
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide emergency medical care in a 20-bed ED with 24,000 annual volume.
  • Work 12-hour shifts (6a-6p or 6p-6a) with 24-hour physician coverage and 22-hour APP coverage.
  • Supervise and direct Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants.
  • Collaborate with backup specialties including Hospitalist, OB, General Surgery, Urology, and ENT; coordinate transfers for higher-level care.
  • Maintain compliance with credentialing requirements including immunizations, TB testing, and CME.
