Assistant Manager / Manager – Enterprise Technology & Shared Services – Operational Excellence

As part of EY’s Business Consulting team, you will work within a client-facing Strategic Operations Office and lead a workstream focused on enterprise technology, shared services, and corporate support function enablement. You will work across business and technology teams to assess current capabilities, shape improvement priorities, and coordinate initiatives spanning enterprise applications, ERP, supply chain management systems, data and digital platforms, and service delivery. The role requires a practical understanding of how technology, data, governance, and operating models come together to improve corporate support functions. The role is expected to operate in a secondment-style environment and requires frequent travel, including extended periods at client locations.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Lead a defined workstream within the Strategic Operations Office, establishing clear objectives, deliverables, milestones, governance, and stakeholder responsibilities.
  • Assess the current-state technology and operating environment across enterprise and back-office functions, identifying process, system, data, governance, and service-delivery improvement opportunities.
  • Support the development and execution of digital strategy, technology enablement, shared services, and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate business and technology stakeholders to translate operational needs into practical requirements, priorities, roadmaps, and implementation activities.
  • Evaluate enterprise applications and platforms, including ERP, supply chain management, data, reporting, workflow, automation, and digital capabilities.
  • Support the design or improvement of shared services operating models, service catalogues, governance arrangements, performance measures, and service-management processes.
  • Contribute to enterprise data management, reporting, data governance, analytics, and decision-support initiatives.
  • Assess IT operating models, technology governance, service management, architecture, security, and delivery dependencies relevant to the workstream.
  • Prepare structured analyses, decision papers, roadmaps, status reports, dashboards, governance materials, and executive presentations.
  • Manage workstream risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and actions, escalating matters requiring leadership direction.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with corporate functions, technology teams, data teams, risk functions, and senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Strategic Operations Office methods, templates, governance, and delivery practices.
  • Work effectively within a client environment and travel frequently, including for extended assignments, as required.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in enterprise technology, shared services, digital transformation, technology enablement, business process improvement, consulting, or a related area.
  • Experience in enterprise technology and back-office support functions, including ERP, supply chain management systems, enterprise applications, data, and digital platforms.
  • Understanding of shared services operating models and corporate support functions.
  • Experience supporting or contributing to digital strategy, digital transformation, technology enablement, or business process improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data management, reporting, data governance, and digital capabilities.
  • Understanding of IT operating models, technology governance, and service management principles.
  • Experience working with business and technology stakeholders to improve processes, systems, and service delivery.
  • Experience leading or coordinating a workstream, including planning activities, managing stakeholders, monitoring progress, and preparing leadership updates.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with enterprise reporting, workflow, or visualization tools is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently and remain at client locations for extended periods.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Exposure to Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Supply Chain, or other shared service functions.
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent enterprise solutions.
  • Exposure to data governance, analytics, automation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in utilities, infrastructure, government, or other large asset-intensive organizations.
  • Experience supporting a Strategic Operations Office, transformation office, shared services function, enterprise PMO, or similar governance and delivery environment.
  • Experience in consulting, professional services, or secondment-style client assignments.
  • Arabic language capability.

What we look for

Highly motivated professionals with strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead a demanding workstream in a complex client environment. You will be an effective communicator and collaborative team player who can connect business and technology perspectives, build trusted stakeholder relationships, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality outputs with discipline and pace.
