Description:

As the Manager of Systems Operations, you will be responsible for the delivery and availability of the WebMD Health Services SAAS platform that delivers content and services for the Health Services division of WebMD. This position is part of WebMD Health Services Operations team supporting a highly transactional, geographically distributed, Internet facing infrastructure.\u00A0 You will be working within an environment with highly sensitive HIPAA data.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, hire, and supervise a staff of Systems Administrators/Engineers.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners and stakeholders.

  • Review and analyze existing operational policies, procedures, and infrastructure for effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improvement.

  • Lead department operational scheduling, planning, and projects.\u00A0

  • Drive a culture of automation and simplicity to optimize infrastructure operations proactively, focusing on how to improve operational performance, efficiency, and availability.

  • Address and coordinate production issues outside of working hours as necessary.

  • Manage Operational budget, optimizing costs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated leadership and project management experience supporting critical production infrastructure.

  • Basic understanding of SAAS infrastructure networking (L2-L3), TCP/IP, Internet Services (DNS, Load Balancing), and Firewalls.\u00A0

  • Basic understanding of key security concepts and auditing requirements.

  • Experience with supporting Microsoft Windows in a production environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in a Service Provider or Software Development organization.

  • Experience with an on-premise datacenter environment.

  • Previous experience with writing policies and procedures.

  • Prior experience in technical operations in direct support of application delivery.

  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux OS commands/utilities (process, network, file systems, job control, etc).\u00A0
