Job Summary:
The Gondola Mechanic is responsible for performing all routine maintenance procedures under the guidance of the maintenance manager and senior mechanics. This person will perform preventive maintenance and repair of the assigned lifts while interacting professionally with lift operations staff and assisting with lift operations training.
Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Work closely with Electrical and Mechanical staff to learn all facets of lift equipment repair.
- Responsible for following the Vail Resorts safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Responsible for performing all routine and assigned maintenance procedures under the guidance of lift maintenance manager and senior mechanics Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submitting to Lift Dispatch in a timely manner.
- Responsible for assuring that the Maintenance Manager ,Lead and Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions,incidents observations or system malfunctions.
- Responsible for completing the Apprenticeship Program in a timely manner
- Must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions including extreme weather, both winter and summer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Educational Requirements (HS Diploma or GED)
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- 1 Year Experience working on detatchable lifts (preferred)
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for up to 6 hours
- Flexible schedule required during peak times and weekends.
- Comfortable working outside in alpine winter/summer enviroment
- Able to work at heights of 50 feet
- 18 years of age or older
