The Bicycle Group Ride Leader will lead a group of guests on bicycle rides that start and end at the store and to ensure all participants have a safe and enjoyable experience throughout the ride. Light bike maintence may be required, as well as basic First Aid skills. Candidate should be in good healt and be able to bike 20-60 miles in one day.
Job Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Build relationships with customers
- Be knowledgeable of local cycling routes and roads.
- Communicate route details and schedule via Facebook, Gmail, and Blog.
- Promote the rides through store locations and social media
- Write interesting ride event recaps and captions.
- Take photos during the ride events.
- Share cycling tips on posture, products, nutrition, and training.
- Be able to assist in minor technical issues: flat change, dropped chain, rubbing brake pads.
- Manage ride pace with other ride leader to keep the group together and on scheduled route.
- Understand the rules of the road as a cyclist and encourage riders to adhere.
- Effectively announce to a large group detail of route, rules, avg pace, introduce leaders.
- Ensure all riders have been signed off on waiver
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Bike industry and shop experience, preferred
- CPR trained
- Basic First Aid certification, preferred
- Social Media experience
- English fluency
- Ability to pedal a road bike 20-60 miles at 12-25 mph
- Must own your own road/hybrid bike
- Must be in good physical condition
- Abilty to perform basic maintenance on rental fleet bicycles
- Energetic, motivated, outgoing, friendly
- Previous group bike ride lead experience
- Previous bike mechanic experience
