Overview
The Washington Works site currently has an opportunity available for a Production Coordinator to support the Autoclave Unit. This position will be responsible for the effective management and efficient processing of all Blocked Stock / Rework inventory, which includes defining the work stream allocation, production scheduling, and overseeing the operational execution (internal & external). The Production Coordinator will provide directions for site personnel and interface with external processors.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the efficient processing of all rework on the unit's offline production assets (drying, optical sorting, split & tumble) in an effort to maximize tote bin availability, material flow, and overall productivity.
- Responsible for the execution of process orders and managing rework material at external processors.
- Responsible for the creation, distribution, & completed review of all offline processing production sheets.
- Responsible for updating the UD (usage decision) Codes on all rework materials ("released status" for all standard quality batches post offline/external processing and/or "SQ status" for all out of specification batches as deemed appropriate.
- Responsible for managing respective PACK 24/7 & CORE Team Metrics / KPIs
- OPEN QI Production Batch Status (daily - 24/7 Team) *Production Coordinator
- NFFU/D03 On-Hand Inventory Report (daily - Core Team) to monitor Offline/External Processing needs
- Responsible for tote bin fleet management (daily availability, repairs, reallocation).
- Acts as the ME (manufacturing expert) for Autoclave's offline assets and drives continuous improvement efforts to increase throughput and reduce dependency on external processors.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure that all individual actions and issued instructions comply with operational procedures (SOPs/ODs) and safety standards.
- Maintains unit standards related to housekeeping, quality management systems, personnel policies, and process safety management.
- Models Celanese Core Value Compliance (Stewardship/PSM, Ethics & Respect for People).
- Ensures good communication and relations with Production Personnel, Business Planners & Schedulers, S&OP Team, Raw Material Coordinators, Unit Leadership Team, and Technical Engineering Staff.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience.
- Aptitude for leading and developing team members.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of computer use such as Microsoft Office and other special programs as needed.
- Capacity to solve problems and be decisive to ensure business needs are met.
- Troubleshooting experience of general computer & Microsoft app issues.
- Confidence of multitasking in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Able to take calls and work after hours on an as needed basis.
The following skill sets are preferred by the site:
- SAP experience.
- Critical thinking.
- Business acumen related to production process flow, inventory management, and operational costs.
- Sample Manager (LIMS) experience.
- Training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an associate's degree.
