Job description

The Technical Office Engineer is a key contributor ensuring project success by meticulously reviewing and clarifying contract documents, providing crucial technical guidance to project and construction managers, and efficiently managing the submission and coordination of technical submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering/ architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years in construction within UAE / GCC.
  • Proven experience in working on large projects for a reputed organization.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with consultants and authorities.
  • Analytical and problem solving mindset
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented working style

    DESIRABLE: Certifications related to FIDIC and Contract Management

  • Reviews and understands the contract’s documents (specifications, drawings, BOQ, etc) and raises Request for Information to consultant for design clarifications if required.
  • Advises Sr TOE & Project Manager and Construction Manager in technical matters.
  • Ensures technical submittals are meeting project documents / schedule. Coordinates, manages all technical issues / submittals with subcontractors and suppliers (Civil and MEP).
  • Arranges and submits materials and technical documentations (calculations, tests, etc) as per project documents / schedule.
  • Arranges, coordinates and submits shop drawings as per project documents / schedule. Manages and provides technical guidance to Draftsmen in preparation of shop drawings.
  • Provides the Technical support for Construction & QC teams in the method statements preparation.
  • Follows up with consultant and client to obtain the approvals
  • Initiates and manages all engineering logs in coordination with the planning team & project team and assures the compliance with the project schedule.
  • Prepares, arranges and submits all project AS-built drawings as per contract requirements.
  • Reviews, records and evaluates all contract changes and prepares related reports
  • Take all required measures to achieve the project goals (meetings arrangements, letters, emails and reports submission).
  • Review the baseline program and the sequence of engineering submissions in coordination with the Planning Engineer
  • Conduct a regular coordination meeting with all subcontractors to follow-up the engineering submissions and coordination.
  • Initiate a technical meeting with the consultant if required to solve any technical issues
