If you’re ready to challenge the status quo and lead change, this role offers significant growth potential in tax management while gaining exposure across the organization.Key Qualifications:5+ years of experience as a Tax ManagerExtensive individual/corporate/partnership tax knowledgeStrong accounting, analytical, research, organizational, and interpersonal skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong knowledge of tax codes, compliance, and procedures for corporationsFamiliarity with Mexican federal, state, and local reporting requirementsStrong experience in Maquiladora with a variety of tax operations and the ability to drive process improvementsAbility to work well independently as well as communicate the benefits of tax initiativesPrior experience managing VAT reimbursement and obtaining VAT certificationProficiency in SAP ERP systemsBilingual: Fluent in English and SpanishProfessional Competencies:Strategic thinker with a focus on operational efficiency and process improvementStrong attention to detail and organizational capabilitiesProactive problem solver with the ability to work independentlyExceptional communication skills to convey tax initiatives and strategies effectivelyCollaborative approach to working with cross-functional teamsUp-to-date knowledge of legislative and regulatory tax law developmentsKey Responsibilities:Collaborate with business operations to support VAT certification for the client’s legal entity in MexicoFacilitate and manage the preparation and review of company federal tax returns and ensure accurate, timely filing of all tax formsReview Tax Accounting for VAT, income tax withholdings, current income tax, and deferred income tax under both US GAAP and MX GAAPEnsure accurate and timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filingsIdentify and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax proceduresDevelop and execute strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxesPlan for and manage the overall return calendar, coordinating timing and inputsMaintain effective control procedures for all aspects of the tax processManage and facilitate income tax audits, including preparing responses and creating schedulesMonitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate their effects to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes in tax legislationProvide support for various internal audits and special tax-related projectsReview tax returns and prepare quarterly/yearly tax projections Our client is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
