Job description
1. Active Directory (AD)Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including creating and managing users, groups, and organizational units (OUs).Configure and enforce Group Policies (GPOs) to ensure security and compliance.Implement and maintain AD roles, including DNS, DHCP, and Certificate Services.Monitor replication and resolve AD synchronization issues between domain controllers.Perform periodic audits of AD permissions, accounts, and roles to ensure compliance.Plan and execute domain migrations or integrations during organizational changes.2. Exchange ServerInstall, configure, and manage Microsoft Exchange Server environments.Monitor email flow, queues, and mailbox databases for performance and health.Configure and manage email security policies, spam filters, and data loss prevention (DLP).Perform Exchange migrations, including on-premises to Office 365 or hybrid setups.Manage email archiving, retention policies, and compliance requirements.Troubleshoot issues related to mail delivery, access, or synchronization across devices.3. VirtualizationDeploy and manage virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and OLVM.Monitor and optimize the performance of virtual machines (VMs) and hosts.Create and manage virtual networks, storage, and resource pools.Perform VM backups and recoveries, ensuring business continuity.Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments.Plan and execute upgrades of hypervisors and virtual infrastructure.4. Linux AdministrationInstall, configure, and maintain Linux servers (e.g., Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, Red Hat).Manage user accounts, permissions, and secure access using SSH or PAM.Monitor Linux system performance.Configure and manage Linux-based services, such as web servers (Apache), databases, and DNS.Apply patches, updates, and security hardening.5. Backup AdministrationConfigure and manage enterprise backup solutions (Veeam).Develop and maintain backup policies.Ensure backups are tested regularly for recoverability and compliance with RTO/RPO.Manage tape backups, offsite storage, and replication to disaster recovery sites.Integrate database-specific backup tools like Oracle RMAN.Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot failures or performance bottlenecks.6. Storage ManagementManage and monitor SAN/NAS/VSAN storage systems and ensure optimal performance.Configure RAID levels (e.g., RAID 1, RAID 5) for redundancy and performance.Allocate and manage storage volumes and LUNs for server and application needs.Monitor storage capacity and plan for future expansions.Implement data deduplication, compression, and replication where applicable.7. MonitoringDeploy and manage monitoring tools, such as ManageEngine tools.Configure alerts and notifications for critical system, network, or application metrics.Monitor CPU, memory, disk usage, and network performance for anomalies.Analyze logs to identify trends, potential issues, or security breaches.Generate and distribute reports on system health, performance, and capacity planning.Automate monitoring tasks using scripts.RequirementsQualifications and Skills:1. Educational Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.2. Work Experience:At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the field.Experience in Microsoft based operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Server, Enterprise Backup Soulitions and Linux Administrator.3. Technical Skills:Problem-Solving and Administration.Cloud computing.Proficiency in managing virtualization platforms (VMware, AHV, OLVM and micrsoft hyper-v).Expertise in Oracle Linux installation, configuration, and administration.Knowledge of RAID configurations (RAID 1, RAID 5).Hands-on experience with backup tools (Veeam, Oracle RMAN).Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and firewalls.Familiarity with storage systems, including SAN, NAS,iSCSI and VSAN.Vendor Management: Work with third-party vendors and ensure SLA compliance.RFP Preparation: Draft RFPs, evaluate bids, and recommend solutions.Analysis: Perform cost-benefit analysis and recommend improvements.4. Certifications (Optional but Preferred):Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).Microsoft Certified: MCSE.5. Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
