## The group you’ll be a part of This is a Supplier Engineering position in the Electrical Systems Group of Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) at Lam Research in Malaysia. In this role, you will directly contribute to develop (in partnership with Lam's C&F teams and suppliers) new designs in vacuum systems, from advanced valve designs, including novel heated products to manage hard-to-solve particles and sealing problems, actuators and bellows, metrology such as precision manometers, pumping, etc. Our Complex OEM team works in a wide variety of high technology fields, and this position offers an opportunity to collaborate across our group and the company on many interesting fields ## The impact you’ll make As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products. ## What you’ll do * Partner with Lam Product Groups and global suppliers to develop, launch, and transition advanced mechatronics and motion control assemblies into production. * Lead supplier quality, manufacturing, and process improvement initiatives to achieve quality, cost, capacity, and delivery objectives. * Drive structured root cause investigations, corrective actions, and customer/field escalations involving mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated mechatronic systems to improve product reliability and supplier performance. * Serve as the technical lead for cross-functional programs, including Build Verification, Production Readiness Reviews, and new product introductions. * Conduct supplier audits, quality system assessments, and performance reviews using scorecards and process controls. * Provide hands-on technical support for supplier build, test, qualification, troubleshooting, and production activities across deposition and etch product lines, using engineering drawings, schematics, test equipment, and data to isolate issues and drive RCCA. * Own project execution, timelines, and milestones while developing best-known methods and driving continuous improvement across the supply base ## Who we’re looking for * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university. * Experience with robotics, mechanical systems, power, controls, or integrated mechatronic systems; multidisciplinary breadth is highly valued. * 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in semiconductor equipment or similarly complex industrial systems. * Working knowledge of electro-mechanical assemblies, part fabrication, assembly, test, and quality assurance methods. * Working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems sufficient to support mechatronics troubleshooting and supplier RCCA, including power supplies, controls, thermal management, and LAN or serial communications. * Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and PCB layouts and to use common benchtop or portable test equipment such as digital multimeters and oscilloscopes. * Understanding of ESD controls and safe troubleshooting practices for high-voltage and high-current systems. * Experience working with global suppliers * Industrial systems lifecycle experience spanning specification, manufacturing, assembly, test, reliability, systems integration, and product support. * Project management or technical team leadership experience. * Demonstrated expertise in root cause analysis and failure investigation using Failure Analysis (FA), 8D problem-solving, 5 Whys, and FMEA methodologies. * Strong critical and creative thinking skills, supported by qualitative and quantitative analysis methods. * Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues across suppliers and cross-functional teams. * Strong attention to detail, sound engineering judgment, and disciplined documentation practices. * ## Preferred qualifications * Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Valve Engineering (control valve sizing/selection, fluid dynamics, sealing, tolerancing, failure analysis, and vacuum technologies/controls), or equivalent experience. * Strong systems engineering and integration experience across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software interfaces. * Semiconductor customer fab knowledge; semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred. * Experience troubleshooting semiconductor equipment or other complex electro-mechanical systems at the system, subsystem, or component level. ## Our commitment We believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
