We are the people who give possibilities purpose

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

GROWTH OPPORTUNITY IDENTIFICATION & ASSESSMENT

  • Proactively uncover growth opportunities using business performance, market, customer, competitive and healthcare-system signals.
  • Form and test hypotheses on where BD can accelerate growth, improve its market position or capture emerging demand.
  • Assess and substantiate opportunities by quantifying market potential, attractiveness, strategic fit and commercial implications.
  • Surface risks, gaps and market shifts, and provide fact-based perspectives to support prioritization and resource allocation.

STRATEGIC ANALYTICS & EVIDENCE GENERATION

  • Integrate financial, Salesforce, distributor, in-market sales, market intelligence and other performance data into a coherent fact base.
  • Conduct market sizing, whitespace, penetration, segmentation, portfolio and growth analyses.
  • Validate assumptions through triangulation, translate complex findings into clear implications, and confidently defend conclusions with evidence.

GROWTH INTELLIGENCE HUB

  • Establish and maintain a reusable regional source of market, competitive, portfolio and growth intelligence.
  • Build market-sizing databases, opportunity maps, competitive assessments and growth-tracking tools, with consistent processes for updating and reuse.

STRATEGIC PLANNING, ASR & DECISION SUPPORT

  • Provide analytical support for the Annual Strategic Review (ASR), Growth Forums, business reviews, portfolio assessments and strategic workstreams.
  • Strengthen the evidence behind recommendations to business and country leaders, improving the quality of strategic discussion and decisions.
  • Prepare clear analyses, visualizations and executive-ready materials; present findings and discuss strategic direction with confidence.

EXECUTION & COMMITMENT TRACKING

  • Support post-ASR tracking of strategic commitments and growth initiatives.
  • Assess progress against agreed plans, identify risks and gaps, and highlight where intervention, reassessment or course correction may be required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, data analytics, engineering, life sciences, healthcare or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years in strategic planning, business analytics, commercial excellence, market intelligence, finance, business insights, consulting or a related field.
  • Proven ability to combine multiple data sources, work with complex datasets, and turn analysis into business recommendations.
  • Healthcare, MedTech or life sciences experience preferred.

Critical Capabilities

  • STRATEGIC CURIOSITY - Proactively hunts for opportunities and risks rather than waiting for requests.
  • ANALYTICAL RIGOR - Structures ambiguous problems and reaches objective, evidence-based conclusions.
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN - Understands commercial dynamics, portfolio performance and growth drivers.
  • COMMUNICATION & INFLUENCE - Makes complex analysis clear and defends recommendations with logic and evidence.
