The office is located on the 58th floor and includes panoramic views, an on-site gym, a gaming area, ping pong, and a fully stocked kitchen.About the RoleAs a Principal Backend Engineer, you will be a senior hands-on member of our backend team, building the systems that collect, process, and remediate vulnerability data from millions of endpoints across some of the world’s largest enterprises.This is a development-focused individual contributor role. You will spend most of your time designing and building production systems, while also influencing technical decisions, raising engineering standards, and helping other engineers solve complex problems.You will own major features and technical initiatives from initial design through production, working closely with Product, engineering leadership, and other development teams. Responsibilities ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and operate scalable backend systems used by large enterprise customersOwn complex features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to deployment and customer adoptionWrite high-quality production code and remain deeply involved in day-to-day developmentMake architectural decisions for major features and platform capabilitiesImprove system reliability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiencyBuild resilient systems that can handle temporary failures, high traffic volumes, and changing workloadsIdentify technical limitations and lead architectural improvements before they become bottlenecksDefine and promote strong engineering practices around testing, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring, and production ownershipCollaborate with Product and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into practical technical solutionsMentor engineers through technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews, without direct people management responsibility Requirements 7+ years of hands-on backend engineering experienceStrong experience developing scalable production systems using a high-level programming language, with preference for GoExperience designing and building distributed, cloud-native systemsProven ownership of complex features or technical initiatives from design through productionExperience working with containers, Kubernetes, databases, and cloud environmentsStrong understanding of system reliability, scalability, observability, and failure handlingExperience writing testable code and contributing to CI/CD processesAbility to make sound technical tradeoffs and communicate them clearly to engineers, Product, and other stakeholdersStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environmentHigh ownership mindset and a collaborative, team-oriented approachNice to HaveExperience in cybersecurity, endpoint management, or enterprise SaaSExperience building high-volume systems connected to agents or devicesExperience with security-sensitive systems, including least privilege, auditability, and secure software deliveryExperience with both cloud and on-prem environmentsExperience mentoring senior engineers or leading technical initiatives across multiple teamsDescription About RemedioRemedio is transforming how organizations reduce cyber risk.While most security tools focus on finding problems, Remedio focuses on fixing them.
