The role requires strong expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, performance optimization, and collaboration with business stakeholders to enable impactful data-driven insights.Key ResponsibilitiesPower BI DevelopmentDesign and develop interactive, visually compelling dashboards and reportsBuild optimized data models using Power BI Desktop and ServiceDevelop complex DAX measures and calculationsImplement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data protection standardsIntegrate multiple data sources including SQL, Data Lake, Azure, Excel, APIs, cloud platformsData Modeling & ArchitectureDesign effective star/snowflake schemas, semantic modelsOptimize data refresh strategy and dataset performanceWork closely with Data Engineering teams for structured data pipelinesPerformance OptimizationOptimize report performance (query tuning, DAX optimization, model refinement)Troubleshoot dataset refresh, gateway, and performance issuesPlatform & GovernancePublish reports and manage Power BI Service workspace administrationImplement governance, versioning, and lifecycle best practicesEnsure adherence to enterprise data governance, compliance, and security standardsStakeholder CollaborationWork with business users to translate requirements into BI solutionsParticipate in requirement workshops and storyboarding sessionsProvide guidance and mentoring to junior developersRequired Skills & Experience6+ years of experience in BI / Analytics with at least 4+ years in Power BIStrong expertise in:Power BI Desktop & Power BI ServiceDAX, Power Query (M), Data ModelingSQL querying and database conceptsExperience working with:Azure Data Platform / Data Lake / Synapse / Fabric (preferred)Enterprise Data Warehouses or Data LakesExperience in Agile / Sprint-based delivery environmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsNice to HaveExperience with Azure Fabric / Databricks / SynapseKnowledge of ETL tools (ADF / SSIS / Informatica)Experience in enterprise-scale BI implementationsCloud certifications (Azure preferred)Soft SkillsExcellent communication and stakeholder managementBusiness acumen and ability to understand user needsProactive, ownership mindsetAbility to work independently and mentor others
