Wood is recruiting for a Site Planning Lead to support the delivery of the PCC (Power, Capture and Compression) construction scope on a contract basis, based on site in Stockton.

The Role

The role provides planning leadership to support delivery of the PCC construction scope, ensuring that project construction schedules remain robust, integrated, risk-informed and aligned with Clients Planning and Scheduling Procedures and progress measurement requirements as well as the EPCC contract obligations.

Working closely with the PCC Construction Manager, Site Construction Lead, Site Project Controls Engineer, Project Controls team, contractors and key stakeholders, the Site Planning Lead is responsible for developing, maintaining and assuring the integrity of PCC construction schedules and progress measurement systems, providing accurate forecasting, early warning of schedule risks and effective decision-support information to enable successful project delivery.

Site Planning Lead shall demonstrate personal commitment to safety and cyber security through behaviour, awareness and work with Contractors to ensure that the required attention is given.

Expected:

  • Managing planning on multi-disciplinary large-scale projects, preferably with EPC/EPCC

    execution planning

  • Required Technical Competencies – Expert knowledge of Primavera P6 and Advanced Critical Path Methodology (CPM), extensive experience with schedule risk analysis
  • Proven delivery with progress measurement systems (including earned value and performance measurement) and baseline management and change control
  • Experience with delay analysis and recovery planning
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to produce high quality written reports and summary presentations – able to communicate clarity from complexity
  • Excellent working relationships and management of key senior stakeholders
  • Self-motivation and a high level of individual initiative and self-reliance are required

The key objectives for this role are:

  • Act as the main point of contact for all planning related activity for the PCC construction scope of the project
  • Develop and assure integrity of all PCC construction planning deliverables
  • Regular input to the project level 1 and Master Control Schedule, providing post update analysis, ensuring the project team are aware of key changes and impact to critical /near-critical paths
  • Manage schedule baseline integrity, including review and approval of Contractor baseline submissions, assessment of proposed schedule changes, support to Management of Change processes, and ensuring integrity of approved Contractor schedule baselines
  • Provide planning support to the Project Controls Team and PCC Construction Manager to ensure compliance with the Project Planning and Scheduling Procedure and projects common process guidance
  • Ensure the integrity and effectiveness of both PCC team and oversight of Contractor planning and progress measurement
  • Ensure Contractor compliance with contractual planning, scheduling and reporting requirements
  • Review, challenge and assure contractor schedules, progress updates, recovery plans, productivity assumptions, forecast completion dates and schedule risk mitigation actions
  • Perform schedule quality assessments including logic integrity reviews, critical path analysis, near-critical path monitoring, float consumption analysis, schedule health metrics and variance analysis on contractor schedules
  • Ensure progress measurement systems comply with Clients Progress Measurement and Reporting requirements, including establishment of measurable progress rules, performance reporting, forecast completion assessments and schedule performance indicators
  • Ensure contractor progress measurement systems comply with Contract Project Coordination Procedure, including establishment of measurable progress rules, performance reporting, forecast completion assessments and schedule performance indicators
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with the Project Schedule Basis and Assumptions documentation, ensuring transparency of key schedule drivers, constraints, assumptions, productivity factors and milestones
  • Facilitate integration of PCC construction schedules with project-wide planning activities, ensuring alignment of key interfaces across the Program, contractors, commissioning, operations readiness and external stakeholders
  • Lead PCC construction schedule reviews, assurance activities, management reviews and verification exercises and support wider project reviews and verification
  • Support and manage the input/output to the Schedule Risk Analysis and master control estimates (MCE) reviews
  • Support planning standardization and digital initiatives; maintain focus on the ongoing implementation of Digital Performance Management (DPM) opportunities
  • Accountable for ensuring that robust Planning Tools are in place, fit-for-purpose and align with Client’s guidelines
  • Drive implementation of digital planning tools, schedule analytics, dashboard reporting, predictive forecasting and performance management solutions to improve visibility and decision making
