Job Description
The Sr.
Project Manager is responsible for delivery of medium to large, complex projects. As the face of the
project the Senior
ProjectManager helps balance and manage
project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders; develops, maintains, and manages full-scale
project plans and associated communications documents; identifies and manages
projectdependencies and critical path work; plans, schedules, and tracks
project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve
project goals; develops and maintains demand and resource capacity models; determines and assesses need for additional internal and/or external staff and makes the appropriate recommendations during the
project lifecycle. Develops, prepares and delivers to stakeholders and the organization
projectstatus reports and corresponding presentations, analyzes their results, troubleshoots problem areas, and makes
corresponding recommendations. Proactively identifies and manages changes in
project scope and devises contingency plans. Manages
project budgets; participates in vendor selection; and manages vendors supporting projects. Manages development of business cases for proposed projects; conducts
project lessons learned and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful
project elements.
The Sr.
Project Manager builds, develops, and grows internal and external business relationships; proactively interfaces with
projectstakeholders on a regular basis; communicates standards for
projectexecution and reporting; and communicates
project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely, consistent, and meaningful manner. Communicates
project success criteria and disseminates them to involved parties throughout the
project lifecycle; supports the processes and communications related to
project execution; responds to customer and business partner requests for service; and contributes to development and implementation of leading practices for
projectcommunications.
Requirements:
7+ years of increasing responsibility and a proven track record in leading delivery of large, complex IT projects. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Retail experience desired. Proven track record of delivering complex projects using varied development approaches for internal and externally developed applications as well as package applications. Strong knowledge of
project management processes, methods, and standards. Experience managing a matrix team consisting of internal resources, contractors and vendors. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to complement strong tactical execution skills.
Ability to build relationships, influence and negotiate without authority across all levels of IT and business units. Ability to act with conviction to make decisions in the context of ambiguity and risk.
