The Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture (DEJV) is a specialist Defence infrastructure delivery partnership with a strong track record in delivering major infrastructure works at HMAS Stirling, Western Australia’s premier naval base. Building on this experience, DEJV has been engaged to deliver several significant infrastructure projects supporting AUKUS, representing a once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity to contribute to Australia’s future Defence capability.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Civil) to join our Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture (DEJV) supporting our long-term major infrastructure construction scopes in Rockingham, WA.

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will report to the Project Manager and lead the project team to successfully deliver assigned civil construction scopes, providing technical, commercial and operational leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

The person appointed to this role will be employed by Ertech and seconded to the Duratec-Ertech Joint Venture.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Take ownership of assigned project scope, delivering outcomes in line with Project Management Plans, company procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Plan, resource, and coordinate tasks systematically, managing multiple competing priorities to meet critical deadlines and project objectives.
  • Monitor and manage commercial performance by understanding cost impacts, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the Project Manager with reporting and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, proactively responding to needs and ensuring delivery within budget, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Lead problem-solving and decision-making by applying analytical thinking, addressing complex challenges, and implementing solutions that drive positive project outcomes.
  • Foster a high-performing, safe, and collaborative team environment through effective leadership, coaching, HSEQ compliance, and a commitment to continuous improvement and development.

To be successful, you will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor Civil Engineering)
  • 7+ years’ relevant experience delivering civil construction and infrastructure projects
  • White Card
  • Advanced Work Traffic Management Certification (desirable)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (essential)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a National Police Clearance (essential)
  • Australian Defence background (highly regarded).
