Job description

Abbott is a global healthcare leader that helps people live more fully at all stages of life. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals and branded generic medicines. Our 122,000 colleagues serve people in more than 160 countries.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Every cancer test ordered through an EMR starts with an integration. As Senior Integration Manager, you will own the strategy behind them: setting the multi-year vision for our EHR interface portfolio, leading our relationships with EMR and interface vendors like Epic, Flatiron, Oracle Cerner, and Athena, and recommending where we invest as we expand domestically and internationally.

You’ll be accountable for the direction of the portfolio, which includes prioritizing which solutions, features, and enhancements we build next to support patients and clinicians. You’ll partner with product, clinical, and commercial leaders, and with executives, to turn interoperability into a lasting competitive advantage.

Join Abbott Cancer Diagnostics in Madison, WI. This is a hybrid role with four days per week on site.

What You’ll Own

Strategy and roadmap

· Own the interface solution roadmap and long-term platform vision, aligned with our order ingress and experience strategy, and prioritize new solutions and enhancements.

· Define portfolio-level interface strategy, recommending where to invest, accelerate, or deprioritize, using business strategy and performance data.

· Develop strategies for interoperability and data exchange between EHR platforms that support our long-term goals.

Partners and stakeholders

· Serve as the strategic point of contact for EMR and interface vendors (e.g., Epic, Flatiron, Oracle Cerner, Athena), including proactive roadmap monitoring, requirement refinement, and enhancement governance.

· Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, and align product, clinical operations, and commercial teams around portfolio decisions.

Delivery and technical leadership

· Apply proven project management practices (scope, schedule, requirements, issues, and risks) to complex integration programs and share best practices and process improvements.

· Report on progress, performance, and KPIs for highly complex projects, translating technical concepts for cross-functional and executive audiences.

· Provide advanced technical guidance on integration standards to product development teams, evaluate emerging technologies and tools to support growth and scalability, and bring creative integration solutions to senior management.

Additional responsibilities

· Support and comply with the Quality Management System, uphold our values of accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork, model an inclusion mindset, and maintain regular, reliable attendance.

· Travel approximately 10% of working time, including between company locations and to partner sites; may include overnight or weekend travel.

Who Thrives Here

You speak fluent HL7 and FHIR, and you’re just as comfortable negotiating with a vendor executive as presenting a roadmap to senior leadership. You can hold a three-year platform view while digging into a single interface problem, and you make complex technical tradeoffs clear to people who don’t live in them.

What We Offer

· Career development with an international company where you can grow the career you dream of.

· Employees can qualify for free medical coverage in the Health Investment Plan (HIP) PPO medical plan in the next calendar year.

· An excellent retirement savings plan with a high employer contribution.

· Tuition reimbursement, the Freedom 2 Save student debt program, and the FreeU education benefit, an affordable path to a bachelor’s degree.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in related field as outlined in the essential duties; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience as outlined in the essential duties in lieu of bachelor’s degree.

· 5-7 years of experience in EHR integration, healthcare IT management, or IT project management.

· Possession and maintenance of Epic Bridges certification throughout employment in position.

· Expert knowledge of integration solutions (e.g., point-to-point, API), EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and integration standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).

· Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to influence and persuade relevant audiences.

· Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

· Competence with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.

· Proficient computer skills to include internet navigation and email usage.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote.

· Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

· Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

· PMI Project Management Certification.
