Job description
Working as part of the HSE department on a project you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of Intermass personnel, and other stakeholders, and additionally ensure the environmental compliance of our construction projects across the UAE. Your responsibilities will encompass conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, determining practical and safe solutions with the construction team, implementing HSE policies and project requirements, and facilitating training programs to foster a strong safety culture to drive the improvement of HSE performance within Intermass. Additionally, you will actively lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and emergency response planning as necessary, identifying trends in HSE observations and issues.
Relevant Degree qualification.
6+ years of experience within HSE with a contracting company, with a minimum of 3 years of UAE-based experience.
Perform in a similar HSE role and have demonstrable evidence of performance and achievements.NEBOSH International Diploma is Mandatory
IOSH Managing Safely is MandatoryISO 45001 Auditor, ISO 14001 Auditor, or IMS Auditor is highly Preferable
A relevant Master’s qualification is an Advantage
- Provide HSE leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor their effectiveness across the work areas.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify and ensure that potential hazards are rectified by relevant stakeholders promptly.
- Identify, and ensure adherence to, local HSE regulations, company policies, and project standards on the project site.
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and assess potential risks associated with construction activities.
- Work collaboratively to ensure works undertaken at the project site are performed safely and with minimal environmental impact.
- Support the project team to identify practical solutions to hazards present on the project site. Analyze project-specific records of HSE activities, inspections, and training sessions, and identify trends in performance failure that require correction.
- Provide regular updates and reports on HSE performance specific to the project to ensure transparency and compliance. Play an active role in organizing and participating in emergency drills to test response procedures.
- Collaborate with project management to integrate project-specific safety requirements into training programs.
- Monitor compliance to approved MSRAs and identify when site conditions have changed sufficiently to necessitate a revision to approved work methods.
- Manage and ensure compliance with all PTW schemes and requirements for the project. Able to deputise for the HSE Lead on the project as required.
