Senior Cyber Security Analyst

About the Role

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst at Hyland, you will serve as a trusted advisor on cybersecurity risks, emerging threats, industry trends, and security best practices while helping protect enterprise systems, applications, cloud environments, and critical business data. You will lead complex security investigations, drive threat detection and response initiatives, leverage AI-driven security capabilities, support security modernization efforts, and mentor security analysts as part of a highly collaborative and innovative security organization. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and a passion for building next-generation security operations.

Your Role Responsibilities – Here's What You'll Do

  • Serve as a trusted advisor on cybersecurity threats, trends, risks, and best practices; lead complex incident investigations, threat response activities, and security escalations
  • Conduct advanced threat hunting and security research to identify emerging threats and attack techniques; perform vulnerability assessments, security reviews, acquisition assessments, and vendor risk assessments
  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize security solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments; leverage AI-powered security technologies and automation platforms to improve detection and response capabilities
  • Develop and enhance detection use cases, response playbooks, recovery procedures, and security documentation; support and administer enterprise security technologies including SIEM, EDR/XDR, Security Posture Management, File Integrity Monitoring, Threat Intelligence, and SOAR platforms
  • Monitor the cybersecurity landscape and provide recommendations regarding emerging threats and security risks; evaluate and recommend new or replacement security technologies to strengthen the organization's security posture
  • Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior analysts and team members; assist in developing and maintaining security policies, standards, procedures, and operational frameworks

Role Essentials – What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience; minimum 6+ years of experience in Security Operations Center (SOC), Incident Response, Cyber Security Operations, Threat Detection & Investigation, or Enterprise Security Administration
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, networking, threat detection methodologies, and security controls; significant experience supporting Windows and Linux/Unix environments
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, Threat Intelligence, and Security Monitoring technologies; experience with AI-driven security capabilities and automation technologies
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead complex investigations and security initiatives
  • Experience developing detection use cases, response playbooks, and security documentation; familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and security policy development

What We'd Like to See – Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Threat Hunting, Detection Engineering, and Security Automation & Orchestration (SOAR); familiarity with Agentic AI and Model Context Protocols (MCP)
  • Experience with AI-assisted security operations and AI-driven detection capabilities; Cloud Security experience across Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, or APIs; experience with Detection Use Case Development & Optimization
  • Experience in Digital Forensics, Incident Investigation, Security Process Modernization, and Vendor & Third-Party Risk Assessments
  • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC (GCIH, GCFA, GCIA, GCDA), CompTIA Security+/CySA+/CASP+, Microsoft SC-200/AZ-500, Splunk Certifications, or SOAR Platform Certifications
