Job PurposeA manufacturing company in Kenya is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting. The role will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate cost management, and leading the receivables, payables, and cost accounting functions while providing financial advisory support to management.Key Responsibilities1. Financial Operations & ReportingOversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy of financial records.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including KRA VAT and tax obligations.2. Cost Accounting & Manufacturing FinanceLead cost accounting processes, including product costing, variance analysis, and cost control.Monitor production costs and provide insights to improve margins and efficiency.Work closely with production teams to ensure accurate tracking of raw materials and finished goods.3. Receivables & Payables ManagementOversee accounts receivable and payable functions to ensure timely collections and payments.Monitor cash flow and working capital to maintain financial stability.Implement controls to reduce outstanding debts and optimize supplier payments.4. Financial Advisory & Business SupportProvide financial advisory to management on profitability, cost optimization, and business performance.Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and forecasting.Identify risks and recommend solutions to improve financial efficiency.5. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with procurement, production, and operations teams to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals.Provide financial insights to support decision-making across departments.Ensure proper documentation and financial controls across all business units.6. Banking & Treasury ManagementManage bank relationships, reconciliations, and transactions.Handle loan facilities, payments, and other banking-related activities.Ensure proper cash management and liquidity planning.RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA (K),CPA or ACCA qualification (mandatory).Minimum 4–7 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong experience in cost accounting and inventory management.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong understanding of financial operations and accounting systemsExpertise in cost management and variance analysisAbility to oversee receivables, payables, and accounting teamsKnowledge of KRA VAT, tax compliance, and statutory reportingExperience working with SAP or similar ERP systemsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsHigh level of integrity and attention to detailPreferred AttributesExperience in manufacturingAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentStrong leadership and team management capability
