A progressive Secondary School in Nottingham is seeking a professional, highly organized, and welcoming School Receptionist & Office Assistant to join their vibrant front-of-house and administrative team. This combined role offers an excellent opportunity for an articulate professional who enjoys a balance between welcoming visitors and delivering essential clerical support in an active educational setting.

The successful candidate will share responsibility for greeting visitors, managing the main incoming telephone switchboard, and ensuring all guests follow safety protocols and security check logs (including DBS verification cross-checks). In addition to front-of-house duties, you will provide administrative support to the school office. This includes sorting mail distributions, handling initial student inquiries at the public counter, managing incoming email networks, typing school newsletters, and scanning confidential documents into the school's secure central file infrastructure.

You will maintain an approachable presence while displaying absolute discretion and data accuracy at all times. Strong time-management skills are required to execute clerical data input tasks smoothly while simultaneously managing foot traffic at the reception counter.

Requirements

  • Previous practical experience in a front-of-house receptionist, clerical assistant, or public-facing administration role

  • Basic knowledge of data protection guidelines (GDPR) and school visitor security management parameters
