Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a Sales Estimator responsible for reviewing, estimating, and quoting standby power system projects. This includes electrical and mechanical power systems equipment, auxiliary equipment, plus electrical and mechanical services.

This is primarily an in-office position, based in our Milford, MA. headquarters. After successful onboarding, hybrid options are available for the right candidate.

Pay Rate: $65,000 to $80,000

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with New England Sales Manager and outside sales staff to prepare pricing quotations based on information and resources such as drawings, specifications, and vendor proposals.
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with sales manager, sales representatives, sales coordinator, and project management team members.
  • Help to maintain proposal databases and ensure accuracy of quote log (CRM).
  • Solicit proposals from suppliers and consult websites to obtain and compare prices, specifications, transportation costs, and delivery dates.
  • Manage and develop relationships with suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality, including on-time deliveries.

Educational Requirements

Minimum High School diploma; a two-year degree in Engineering Technology or related field is preferred. Relevant work experience in the electrical or mechanical trades will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. On the job training is available.

  • Working understanding of the construction trades, electrical distribution, or mechanical systems (electrical and/or mechanical trade background, electrical supply house, etc.)
  • Experience interpreting engineered specifications and drawings
  • Proficient with using personal computers and Microsoft applications
  • Detail oriented within a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with coworkers from related departments within the company
  • Highly motivated, organized, able to exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate good problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work proficiently with minimum supervision
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player; must be able to work well with others
