Job detailsApplication formAbout JobThe Safety Manager role is responsible for cultivating a safety-conscious culture on assigned projects, including subcontractor compliance. They ensure that all stakeholders are aware of potential hazards/risks and precautionary safety measures through proactive support, training, and mentoring. Safety professionals work hand-in-hand with the entire project team, subcontractors, and other parties located onsite to ensure each worker returns home safely each day.This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused individual to join the Rogers-O'Brien Construction team. As a Safety Manager, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the safety of our projects and the well-being of our employees.Skills & QualificationMinimum 3-5 years’ experience in safety management or a related fieldPrefer experience in Advanced ManufacturingOSHA 30 Hour CertificateFirst Aid/CPR certificationPossess valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to utilize computer software, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and PowerPoint3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in constructionKnowledge of local, state, and federal OSHA requirements as well as Rogers-O’Brien Construction requirementsUnderstanding of the principles of Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP)ResponsibilitiesActively participate and promote the development of a "safety starts with me" cultureAssist project’s Superintendents and Project Managers in the development of specific Job Hazard Analyses and safe work plans to address working in and around hazardsIdentify, evaluate, and recommend control of hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities, and provide recommendations to abate same through project management and supervisory personnelLead project team in supervision, coordination, and implementation of site-specific safety program, and risk assessments, preparation and updating of site-specific safety manual, including project emergency action procedures, work assignments, and pre-task planning, personnel administration, staffing, and training for emergency contingency plansConduct site-specific orientation training program and implement program for all onsite staff and subcontractorsProvide for proper start-up of the project with regard to proper posting of all jobsite labor and safety posters, safety signage, etc.Submit all Site safety inspections with reportsDocument and investigate all incidents involving property damage, personal injury, safety violations, near misses, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance activitiesLead with project team on incident analysis focusing on root cause(s) and lessons learnedAccompany OSHA compliance officers and insurance inspectors during on-site auditsEvaluate subcontractor qualifications, training program, and competency, and make recommendations to Project Management and supervisory staffAssist in developing and managing the project safety budget(s)Evaluate project safety performance and provide guidance on trends, corrective actions, and loss ratesCollaborate with Rogers-O’Brien Construction’s Corporate Safety Director and Regional Safety Director on the development and implementation of Company safety policies and proceduresFacilitate any specific safety trainingHelp prepare and attend site-specific pre-con meetingsAttend ESH departmental meetingsDemonstrate proper performance of skills reflected and validated by the competency checklistAdhere to Rogers-O’Brien policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizationsApply for this positionAutofill from resumeSave time by uploading your resume.
