Job description

The Enterprise Regulatory Engagement Team (“ERET”) is dedicated to cultivating strong relationships with regulatory agencies globally and providing oversight of engagement activities. This involves direct and proactive communication with agencies’ senior personnel and staff examiners concerning key supervisory initiatives, as well as promptly informing agencies of relevant matters. The team is responsible for managing all aspects of ongoing supervision and regulatory examinations, which includes coordinating internal stakeholders, preparing for regulatory visits, managing information requests, and facilitating constructive dialogue during the examination process. ERET leverages subject matter expertise to establish and execute Citi’s regulatory strategy, providing ongoing advisory and communicating regulatory themes and emerging issues to Senior Management, the Executive Management Team, and the Board of Directors.

As part of ERET, the Retail Credit Regulatory Engagement Team manages regulatory interactions for Wealth, Retail Banking, U.S. Consumer Cards and the Risk function covering those areas.

The Operational Readiness role delivers end‑to‑end management of regulatory examinations and ensures consistent, high‑quality execution of regulatory processes across aligned units. The role provides operational, procedural, and logistical oversight to ensure the organization is fully prepared for supervisory engagements. This includes exam management, process optimization, regulatory reporting, and coordination of activities across multiple functions and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle of regulatory exams, including preparation, document management, calendar planning, and post‑exam activities.
  • Coordinate exam‑related escalations to senior leadership and ensure consistent handling of issues, timelines, and regulatory expectations.
  • Produce and maintain high‑quality MIS, dashboards, and executive briefing materials.
  • Prepare core regulatory reporting (e.g., Voice of the Regulator, Factsheets, engagement trackers).
  • Lead and execute critical regulatory processes, such as Heightened Monitoring Questions and readiness routines.
  • Provide operational and logistical support for OGS sessions and other regulatory governance meetings.
  • Maintain strong alignment across seven units, ensuring standardization, compliance with internal procedures, and efficient resource deployment.
  • Serve as a flexible resourcing partner for the broader team, supporting cross‑unit activities as needed.
  • Participate in a rotational operating model to ensure continuous coverage and skill development.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in exam management, regulatory operations, compliance, risk, or operations-focused roles.
  • Proven operational excellence with strong attention to detail and consistent delivery of high‑quality outputs.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including coordination of workstreams, timelines, and stakeholder groups.
  • Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills, with the ability to partner across business units and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in fast‑paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong proactive problem-solving and issue escalation abilities, including identifying risks early.
  • Strong analytical capability to support regulatory reporting, MIS, and exam‑related documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
