Note: Successful applicants will be employees of Raise Limited, working at ExxonMobil facilities with both ExxonMobil employees and other contractors.

Overview

ExxonMobil is seeking a Project Manager II to join the Small Capital Projects Group within ExxonMobil Pipeline Operations, based onsite at the ExxonMobil Campus in Houston. The team executes mid-sized capital projects supporting midstream operations, typically valued between $1M and $20M, and follows ExxonMobil's Capital Project Management System, a structured stage-gate approach to project development and execution. These openings reflect growing project workload and increasing complexity across the team's current capital portfolio. The Project Manager II will initially support experienced Project Managers, becoming an integral member of established project teams and helping force multiply their coordination and project engineering capacity, with a clear path to independently leading capital projects as capability is demonstrated.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of mid-sized capital projects, valued between $1M and $20M, according to specifications, deadlines, and budget.

  • Assist with project cost control, budgeting, and financial tracking, and help develop project status reporting.
  • Support project scheduling and help build and maintain realistic project timelines.
  • Coordinate engineering and procurement activities, and follow up with engineering and supporting organizations to keep work on track.
  • Coordinate design reviews and manage the review of drawings and project documentation.
  • Support risk assessments and follow up on HAZOP action items.
  • Organize project meetings and track action items to closure.
  • Support pre-startup safety reviews and help ensure projects progress in line with ExxonMobil's stage-gate processes.
  • Communicate and coordinate across organizational lines, including business units and external engineering or vendor partners.
  • Help define project governance practices and allocate resources as needed to support project delivery.
  • Progressively take on greater ownership of project scope, schedule, budget, and execution as capability is demonstrated.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of project management or project engineering experience; highly motivated candidates with less experience but strong initiative and capability may also be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or Business Administration with relevant capital project experience; candidates with an Associate's degree or extensive industry experience will also be considered.
  • Strong project management fundamentals with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and follow through on action items.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and consensus-building skills.
  • Basic understanding of engineering concepts and the ability to communicate effectively with engineering firms.
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including intermediate Excel skills such as building schedules and simple tracking spreadsheets.
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and humble team player who is comfortable working with moderate direction.
  • Industry experience does not need to be Oil & Gas; candidates from related industries with solid capital project experience are welcome.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, or Primavera P6.
  • Cost estimating and scheduling experience.
  • Engineering background, particularly electrical engineering.
