Job description

Consilium Safety Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of products and safety systems for fire and gas detection in the marine, oil & gas, transport, and construction sectors. The company started in 1912 with speed logs, and today we are an international company driven by innovation. With a presence in 55 countries, we offer a dynamic and international working environment where you will work closely with a team striving to achieve the overall vision of the business.

Our culture is positive and fast-paced, so it is important that you thrive in an environment where things change quickly. Consilium wants all employees to feel comfortable and cared for, and encourages everyone to contribute in a positive way.

We are now looking for an experienced and hands-on Project Leader to join our team at our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. Expect 50-75% domestic and international travel, sometimes several weeks at a time. The Project Leader plans, oversees, organizes, installs, and commissions Consilium Marine US projects from order intake to the end of the warranty period. As part of the project department, you will create the bridge between sales and after sales, working directly with internal departments and external clients to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The role

In this position you will be responsible for your projects from handover from the Sales Department until the system has been commissioned and handed over to the customer. This includes:

  • Creating project timelines identifying key dates, milestones, and risk factors.

  • Ordering all "in-house" and "open market" materials required to complete the project on time and within budget, following Consilium's internal procedures and using Consilium-approved software.

  • Creating technical drawings and other documentation as per project requirements and Consilium policies.

  • Monitoring project progression and proactively communicating with clients about all aspects of their projects, including any deviations from the initial project plan.

  • Assisting in training co-workers and external customers when needed.

  • Performing additional duties as required.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of five years of proven experience working with electrical systems.

  • Ability to coordinate complex projects, including orders, deliveries, shipping, and required tools, as well as identifying what skills and resources are needed, and for how long, to complete projects on time.

  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of specialized instruments for diagnostic purposes.

  • Familiarity with international and local shipping rules and the properties of various materials.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to learn quickly and work well in a team.

  • Able to make accurate decisions, often under pressure, always with the customer in mind.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • A proactive attitude toward safety: you contribute to accident prevention and safety awareness and keep the workspace in a safe, clean, and tidy condition.

  • Willingness to travel extensively (50-75%), both domestically and internationally.

  • A valid driver's license.

  • A valid passport.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience and ability to work in a fast-paced technical environment.

  • Knowledge of SOLAS and other regulatory rules and regulations.

  • Product knowledge of fire alarms, gas alarms, monitoring systems, VDR, and speed log systems.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

  • 3% Simple IRA retirement plan with company match.

  • 15 days paid vacation starting the first year. Additional 5 days after 5 years.

  • 13 Paid holidays.

  • 10 Paid Personal Time Off (PTO).

  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
