POSITION SUMMARY

  • The Product Specialist – Thermal (Americas) is responsible for supporting offering management efforts to drive growth, adoption, and profitability of Vertiv’s liquid cooling portfolio across the Americas region. This includes Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs/XDUs), direct-to-chip liquid cooling, fluid distribution systems, and emerging high-density cooling technologies supporting AI, HPC, and next-generation data center applications.
  • This role reports directly to the Sr. Director, Product Management – Thermal and works closely with Product Managers – Liquid Cooling. The Product Specialist provides direct support in executing product strategies, coordinating cross-functional activities, and supporting later-stage product development phases, including launch and lifecycle maintenance of existing offerings.
  • This role collaborates extensively with sales teams, customers, regional stakeholders, marketing, and engineering to execute product roadmaps through the New Product Development (NPD) Stage Gate process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide direct support to Product Managers – Liquid Cooling in managing the Americas portfolio and executing product strategies.
  • Support execution of product roadmaps through the New Product Development (NPD) Stage Gate process, with a focus on launch phases and sustaining existing offerings.
  • Support day-to-day management of the Americas liquid cooling portfolio, including coordination of new product introductions, regional variants, engineered-to-order (ETO) solutions, and end-of-life activities.
  • Research and analyze market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and competitive landscape related to liquid cooling and high-density data center applications.
  • Gather and analyze customer, sales, and field inputs to identify growth opportunities and adoption trends.
  • Ensure all customer-facing documentation and marketing collateral are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Provide product and offering information to customers, sales teams, customer service, and application engineering.
  • Support development of business case inputs, product documentation, and internal alignment materials.
  • Contribute to VAVE and cost optimization initiatives by gathering data and coordinating cross-functional actions.
  • Monitor key trends such as AI workloads, increasing rack densities, and liquid cooling adoption, and summarize insights for the team.
  • Assist in translating customer and field feedback into structured inputs for product requirements and roadmap discussions.
  • Support customer engagements by preparing technical and commercial materials and coordinating responses.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support demand generation programs and product launch activities.
  • Create and maintain sales tools, including order configuration forms, presentations, and training materials.
  • Track and develop post-launch performance metrics for new offerings, including sales, adoption, and pipeline trends.
  • Mine and analyze data to support forecasting, executive summaries, and sales/order trend analysis.
  • Support pricing and competitive analysis activities, including data gathering and margin tracking.
  • Assist with demand forecasting by compiling inputs from sales, operations, and historical data.
  • Help coordinate and support resolution of product-related issues, including delivery, quality, inventory, and order management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical field (BS or Master preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, thermal systems, or data center infrastructure preferred.
  • Experience with liquid cooling technologies (CDUs/XDUs, direct-to-chip, immersion, or fluid systems) preferred.
  • Basic understanding of the Americas data center market, including hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise segments.
  • Project management skills with the ability to prioritize and drive tasks to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate technical information and complex concepts effectively.
  • Experience working with customers, field sales teams, and cross-functional stakeholders preferred.
  • General interest in sales, marketing, operations, and financial disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and related tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
