OT Security Engineer Intern

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Operational Technology (OT) Security Engineer Intern to support and enhance the security posture of our OT environment. The OT Security Engineer Intern will play a key role in implementing, managing, and monitoring OT security initiatives across various systems and devices to ensure the safety, resilience, and integrity of OT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OT security practices, network security, and risk mitigation strategies, along with hands-on experience in industrial control systems.

Main Tasks:

OT Security Initiatives Implementation / Project Handling

• Assist in exploring and implementing secure methods for remote system configuration, patching, and baseline hardening of OT endpoints.
• Support the design, testing, and rollout of secure remote and privileged access controls to protect OT environments.
• Participate in the design, testing, and deployment of OT cybersecurity enhancements, ensuring alignment with security standards and operational requirements.

Endpoint Hardening & Maintenance

• Support endpoint patching and security updates for OT systems to maintain a secure and stable operating environment.
• Assist with regular credential and access control maintenance on OT equipment and workstations in accordance with security policies.

Vulnerability Management & Security Testing

• Assist in remediation of identified vulnerabilities, ensuring security gaps are addressed in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement secure configurations, system hardening measures, and best practices for OT systems.

OT System Documentation & Risk Management

• Verify and maintain the accuracy of OT risk assessments, network architecture diagrams, and data flow documentation, ensuring systems remain compliant with approved security designs.
• Support the development and execution of risk treatment plans, assisting in the implementation and tracking of mitigation measures for identified risks.
• Employ plc change managment solutions, ensuring mangement of programmable logic controllers in line with best practices.

Collaboration & Operational Support

• Work closely with the OT Security Officer and team members, providing support for OT security initiatives, documentation, and compliance activities.
• Assist in cross-functional coordination to ensure OT security controls are practical, effective, and aligned with operational needs.

Requirements:

- Currently pursuing a relevant Diploma course in polytechnic

- Able to commit to a 5-months internship

- Interest in Cybersecurity
