Job description
We’re looking for an OpenStack Cloud Engineer to help build, operate, and optimise the core services of a large‑scale, sovereign cloud platform. You’ll work across Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, automation, and open‑source components to ensure a secure, scalable, and highly available environment.
Freelance cooperation means project-based contracts, part-time or full-time options, and remote work.
Requirements:
Hands‑on production experience with OpenStack (especially Cinder and Nova)
Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go
Deep knowledge of Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure
Experience running Kubernetes in production
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build management, and release processes
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
OpenStack upstream contribution experience is a plus
Good command of English (German is a plus)
Nice to have:
Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow
Main responsibilities:
Develop and maintain OpenStack Cinder block storage services.
Develop and maintain OpenStack Nova compute services.
Build and maintain automation workflows using Python and/or Go.
Operate and administer Linux-based cloud infrastructure.
Contribute patches and improvements to OpenStack upstream projects.
Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.
