Job Summary and Responsibilities

Our Medical Assistant-Registered supports our diagnostic testing services in the Cardiovascular, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Medicine Labs across the Cardiology service line. The diagnostic tests supported by the MA-R include:

• 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs)
• Transient arrhythmia monitors, such as the Zio patch monitor
• Stress Echo
• Dobutamine Stress Echo
• Exercise treadmill tests (ETT)
• Nuclear Medicine stress tests

The MA-R works closely with cardiologists, cardiac sonographers, cardiovascular RNs, and other team members to provide safe, evidence-based care for outpatients and inpatients needing cardiac diagnostic testing.

Previous cardiac-related experience is preferred but not required. We will teach new skills or enhance current skills as it relates to this position.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School diploma or GED
• Six (6) months of experience in a medical office/clinic or graduation from an accredited Medical Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Nursing Assistant Program
• Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason, required within 60 days of hire
• BLS-RQI
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Professional demeanor with a positive, upbeat attitude, and strong communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrative and clinical staff, leaders, patients and physicians

Preferred

• Associate degree or equivalent
