WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- This position will be responsible as the local expert on asset management tools (e.g., Asset Integrity Program, SAP), processes, guidelines, and statutory requirements. Ensure accuracy of records and currency of information.
- Ensure that all legal and BASF requirements with respect to assets are met, and that plant reliability is optimized / in line with asset effectiveness requirements. (e.g. determine required routine or shutdown inspections).
- Based on the company‑specific maintenance strategy, you help develop, follow up, and improve preventive maintenance plans, as well as safeguard the spare‑parts and equipment strategy.
- For major shutdowns and partial shutdowns, you work with colleagues to define the maintenance scope and actively follow up on relevant topics during the turnaround. You take the lead in the gatekeeping process.
- You manage inspection optimization and strategy. You prepare test and inspection programs and maintain them via periodic maintenance plans
- Update the spare parts strategy. Use analysis to determine the optimum spare parts holding. Work closely with Maintenance, Project Engineering and Production teams to agree stocks.
- Demonstrate that equipment is fit for service (particularly safety critical equipment) including updating of statutory documents, e.g., EPD, P&IDs. Participate and support the site during internal and external audits.
- Drive asset driven operational excellence / reliability and Lean culture measures (identify and promote efficiencies and overall process improvements using relevant KPI's).
WHAT WE EXPECT
- As the ideal candidate, you must have a minimum level 8 qualification in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Process Engineering or other Engineering fields.
- The successful candidate should also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience operating in a Petrochemical/ Chemical/ Pharmaceutical plant environment.
- To excel in this role, you must possess excellent knowledge and understanding of project management, shutdown management, maintenance management and execution, codes of practice, safety standards, and engineering standards.
- Being proficient in IT standard applications, dashboards, and SAP
- The ability to work in a dynamic environment, to make informed decisions under pressure, to help a multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary team achieve the site’s targets safely, efficiently and in a cost-effective and timely manner.
