Our Potential Opportunity

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Wellhead and Skids Solutions team. This role is pivotal in supporting Modular Skid Packages, Wellhead Control Panels, and Pressure Regulation Systems to enhance the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas systems. INTECH’s commitment to innovative designs and reliable systems ensures you will contribute to impactful projects in industries such as Oil & Gas and Utilities.

Our Wellhead and Skids Solutions reflect our dedication to providing cost-efficient, fully autonomous systems that support operational excellence while meeting the highest industry standards in safety and performance.

What You’ll Lead and Deliver

  • Install and erect static and rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, mechanical packages, valves, and associated components, in line with API RP 686, API 610, API 617/618, ASME Section VIII, TEMA, and API 650 as applicable.
  • Perform and supervise equipment positioning, leveling, alignment, bolting, torqueing, grouting, and mechanical assembly activities, following API RP 686 for leveling, alignment and grouting and ASME PCC-1 for bolted flange joint assembly and controlled torqueing.
  • Verify equipment alignment, clearances, tolerances, dimensions, and installation requirements against approved drawings and manufacturer recommendations, using calibrated tools (laser or dial-indicator alignment) and recording as-found and as-left readings.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment drawings, GA drawings, and mechanical layouts for site execution, ensuring only the latest approved (IFC) revisions are used on site.
  • Execute piping installation and erection, ensuring proper installation of pipes, fittings, valves, supports, and associated mechanical components in accordance with ASME B31.3 (or B31.1 for power piping), ASME B16.5/B16.47, and project piping specifications.
  • Oversee piping fit-up, alignment, joint inspection, support installation, and connection activities, including flange face inspection, gasket verification, and checks against nozzle-load limits so no piping strain is transferred to rotating equipment (API RP 686).
  • Coordinate mechanical activities related to hydrotesting, pressure testing, flushing, cleaning, and system preparation per ASME B31.3 Chapter VI, approved test packs, and test procedures.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical installation and site execution issues, coordinating with engineering, construction, and other disciplines as required, through formal RFIs, NCRs, and the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Conduct mechanical pre-commissioning activities, including equipment inspection, lubrication, alignment, rotation checks, and system readiness verification, including lube oil flushing to the required ISO 4406 cleanliness level (API 614) and baseline vibration checks.
  • Prepare and maintain mechanical completion and pre-commissioning checklists, inspection records, and documentation, aligned with the project completion management system (A/B check sheets).
  • Verify mechanical equipment and systems are complete, inspected, tested, and ready for commissioning and start-up.
  • Participate in and support mechanical commissioning and start-up activities, including functional testing and initial operation of equipment, under the project Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) systems.
  • Monitor equipment performance during commissioning and identify any abnormalities, defects, or operational issues, including vibration (ISO 20816), bearing temperatures, noise, seal leakage, and pressure/flow deviations.
  • Perform necessary mechanical adjustments, corrective actions, and troubleshooting during commissioning and start-up.
  • Inspect completed mechanical works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturer requirements, per the project Quality Plan and ITP hold, witness, and review points.
  • Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate with relevant teams for timely rectification and closure.
  • Maintain and update mechanical inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation, including as-built records and turnover dossiers.
  • Identify, manage, and close mechanical punch-list items prior to system handover, categorised as Punch A (before commissioning) and Punch B (before handover).
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Commissioning teams to ensure smooth execution and system readiness.
  • Support the successful mechanical completion, commissioning, handover, and close-out of project systems.
  • Supervise: Hydrotesting, Pressure testing, Flushing, Cleaning, Leak testing, Mechanical equipment checks, ensuring test pressures, hold times, test media, and gauge calibration comply with ASME B31.3, API 598 (valve testing), and approved procedures.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3 – 4 years of relevant mechanical execution experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping systems, installation, erection, and commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, equipment drawings, GA drawings, and mechanical specifications.
  • Strong hands-on experience in mechanical installation, erection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
  • Experience with static and rotating equipment.
  • Experience in industrial, EPC, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, power, or process-related projects is preferred.
