Job description
Design, analysis and development of parts & assemblies for Capital equipment/Semiconductor Systems (WFE) and its configuration. Develop concept to detailed design and execute medium-high complex Projects in Mechanical Structures, Thermal & Fluid delivery systems focused on Engineering design optimization for Cost. Identification of material cost reduction opportunity by BOM Analysis or Product and CAD Tear down; reporting out with Cost driver and functional analysis. End to End Project responsibilities meeting cost targets while executing different phases of VAVE from project opportunity creation, planning, Engineering execution, and completion with BOM cut-in Work closely with CFTs and suppliers to evaluate design or manufacturing constraints upfront in engineering development. Develop engineering proposals with alternate cost-effective solutions in design modularity, alternate manufacturing processes or material selection Validates design using simulation or prototype tests, hand calculations and Lam standard Design practices with BKMs Define project schedule, own technical review meetings, PDR phases, and collaborate effectively to own technical program and complete PLM/Teamcenter based activities Guide and help other team members on design calculations, analysis, and internal design reviews Analyze assemblies and sub systems for interference and tolerance stack up calculations Define and develop engineering requirement specifications for sub-assemblies / sub-systems Release engineering drawings, documentations & BOM using Engineering Change Management process Ensure documentation is consistent with SEMI, Lam Standards and other standards as applicable (ANSI, DIN etc.) B.E/B.Tech/Masters in (Mechanical/Production/Manufacturing) with minimum 6-8 Years of relevant Experience Expert in Mechanical design and hands-on hardware product development experience with capital equipment - Machine Tools, Special Purpose Machines, Complex assemblies of ElectroMechanical Systems Have relevant years of project experience as lead and have worked directly hands-on Cost-out projects by practicing VAVE Techniques Have demonstrated experience of project executions handling Multi-physics, materials & manufacturing processes Demonstrated knowledge in manufacturing processes such as Casting - Extrusion, Injection molding and Metal Joining Processes exhibiting DFm practices Selection of materials and OEM components like fasteners, valves, gauges, fittings etc. Excellent written, verbal, and business presentation skills Strong Knowledge in GD&T, Tolerance stack up analysis Proficient in 3D Modelling, Assembly and Detailing using CAD packages, preferably CREO Excellence in communication and relationship building capabilities within and outside the team, and collaboration to identify and execute Cost savings opportunities Supplier interactions and collaborations for Designed parts assembly, testing or manufacturing Demonstrated knowledge and experience on Semiconductor equipment and its Sub-systems like chambers, vacuum systems, gas delivery, plasma and/or thermal reactors is a plus Material cost modeling from first principle, and cost driver analysis for Manufacturing processes Handled complex BOM structure comprising multi-commodity parent-child compositions Project Management training or Certification TRIZ, Six sigma certification -DFSS/DMAIC or Experience with Lean Design is an added skill
