Job Overview

Manufactures and assembles various products per established facility processes, troubleshoots problems and performs maintenance of complex equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Key Responsibilities:

    1. Mechanical Design & Development
    • Design mechanical systems and modules for automation projects from concept to detailed design.
    • Create and manage 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo Parametric and PDM-Link.
    • Define complete BOMs including materials, tolerances, GD&T, surface finishes, and manufacturing methods.
    • Contribute to design standardization through reusable components and parameterised models.
    • Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes in alignment with functional and cost requirements.
    • Support prototyping, testing, and industrialization phases.

    2. Process Integration
    • Develop machine layouts and support process flow integration.
    • Ensure proper mechanical integration with automation logic and motion control systems.
    • Validate design feasibility considering assembly, maintenance, and manufacturability.
    • Contribute to cycle time optimisation and performance improvement.

    3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with automation engineers, controls engineers, and assembly technicians.
    • Participate actively in design reviews and technical discussions.
    • Support suppliers during co-design phases and technical clarification.

    4. CAD & PDM System Usage
    • Apply company standards in Creo Parametric modelling and drafting.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and revision control within PDM-Link.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of CAD libraries and templates.

    5. Pneumatic Systems Design
    • Design and document pneumatic circuits including actuators, valves, and air preparation units, using SMC PneuDraw or E-Plan Fluid.
    • Integrate pneumatic components into mechanical assemblies with proper specifications.
    • Support validation and troubleshooting during machine debugging.

    6. Transfer Systems & Mechanisms
    • Design transfer systems such as conveyors, indexing tables, vibration feeders, and mechanical handling devices.
    • Validate motion paths, interference checks, and cycle time requirements.
    • Participate in machine trials and performance validation.

    7. Documentation & Standards
    • Generate clear and complete technical documentation including assembly instructions and risk assessments.
    • Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements.
    • Support CE documentation and technical file preparation when required.


    8. Project Participation
    • Contribute to internal machine development and supplier co-design projects.
    • Support installation, commissioning, and debugging on the shop floor.
    • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

What your background should look like

Educational Degree : Technician or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Professional Experience (years in what processes and function)
Minimum 3 years of experience in special-purpose machine design or industrial automation.

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills :
• Mechanical, Electromechanics, or Mechatronics Engineering

• Strong 3D/2D CAD skills (Creo Parametric / PDM-Link)

• Experience in automated systems & special-purpose machines

• Knowledge of pneumatic & transfer systems

• Understanding of industrial assembly processes

• Lean Manufacturing & process optimization mindset

• Analytical thinking & problem-solving skills

• Team player with strong cross-functional collaboration

• Clear communication & technical documentation skills

• Fluent in English and French

• Experience in cross-functional collaboration with automation, controls, and production teams
• Participation in both internal projects and co-design activities with external suppliers
• Ability to support machine assembly, debugging, and production ramp-up on-site when needed
• Capable of managing multiple design tasks and priorities in parallel
• Contributes to the improvement and standardisation of design tools, methods, and platforms
• Demonstrates curiosity and proactive engagement in technological watch and innovation
• Hands-on support in prototyping, pilot builds, and design validation activities
