  • Monitor industry best practices, market trends, emerging processes, and technologies, and share relevant insights internally.
  • Support the development of standard project finishes, features, and upgrade programs, providing cost guidance and recommendations.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the internal cost database to support accurate budgeting and benchmarking.
  • Lead budget reviews during the construction stage, identifying risks, variances, and opportunities for cost management.
  • Review and assess trade extras related to post-tender design changes, providing recommendations on cost impact and validity.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior estimating team members as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

\u00A0

What you bring

  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a construction estimator, ideally with mid-rise and/or high-rise residential projects.
  • Post-secondary degree(s) and/or certificate(s) in architecture, engineering, construction and/or project management.
  • Strong ability to perform quantity take-offs across all trade disciplines using computer software.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex construction drawings and cost information.

  • Computer literacy, with strong knowledge of Excel, Word, estimating software, and construction management systems.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and meet tight deadlines with limited supervision.
  • Positive attitude, responsive, action oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of deliverables.

Highly organized and detail oriented, with sound judgment and a strong commitment to accuracy.

Bonus points

  • Eligible for or have attained PQS, CET.
  • Experience with JDE and Procore systems.

Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior estimators or project team members.
