• Monitor backup status and escalate anomalies, assist with backup verification.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless connectivity issues, escalating to IT Admin as needed.
• Support endpoint protection tasks (patch compliance, enrollment, security maintenance).
• Develop familiarity with SAMI’s server infrastructure, ERP (Odoo), backup systems, MES systems, and shop floor technology environments through direct participation in infrastructure support activities.
• Gain introductory knowledge of SAMI’s PLC environments and IT/OT integration through facility exposure and structured learning alongside senior IT team members.
• Assist with the adoption of AI tools being introduced within SAMI’s IT and manufacturing environments, including training and first-level troubleshooting.
• Manage hardware and software asset records across SAMI’s primary facilities, including inventory audits and asset updates.
• Contribute and maintain the IT knowledge base, process guides, and standard operating procedure documentation.
• Participate in IT projects, including system testing, configuration support, and end-user communication.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you bring

• College Diploma or University Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Foundational understanding of computer hardware, Windows OS, TCP/IP networking, and Microsoft 365 tools, with the ability to resolve common end-user issues independently.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration through academic work, personal study or prior experience, and a desire to deepen expertise.
• Awareness of or curiosity about enterprise systems like ERP (Odoo or comparable), MES platforms, or OT/PLC environments in manufacturing.
• Interest in cybersecurity, DR/BCP concepts, AI tools, or industrial technology, demonstrated through coursework, certifications, or self-study.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting users at all technical levels.
• Intellectual curiosity and growth mindset, seeking root causes and taking ownership of personal development.
• Organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation in a dynamic, multi-site environment.

Bonus Points

• Prior co-op, internship, or part-time IT support experience in a professional or technical environment.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, ITSM ticketing platforms, endpoint management tools, or backup software (academic or work experience).
• Interest in manufacturing technology, OT environments, ERP or MES systems, or industrial IT (certifications, coursework, or self-study).
