About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that develop students' fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.

Students follow a carefully sequenced curriculum covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and mathematical modelling, with many progressing to study A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations while inspiring learners to apply mathematical concepts confidently in both academic and real-world contexts.

You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through curriculum development, intervention programmes, STEM initiatives, maths competitions, enrichment activities, and university outreach opportunities that encourage students to develop a genuine enthusiasm for mathematics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons

  • Prepare students for GCSE, A-Level, and Further Mathematics examinations

  • Develop students' reasoning, fluency, and problem-solving skills

  • Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback

  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development

  • Support STEM initiatives, intervention programmes, and mathematics enrichment activities

  • Foster confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for Mathematics

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level

  • Ability to teach KS3 and KS4 confidently

  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A-Level and Further Mathematics

  • Experience contributing to STEM or mathematics enrichment initiatives

  • Ability to support intervention programmes that raise attainment

  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding student outcomes
