Marine Propulsion Specialist (inspection / fitting / commissioning) - Caribbean

We are hiring a skilled Propulsion Expert to lead and support propulsion system repairs, upgrades, and installations across ship repair and drydock operations. This role is ideal for a specialist with strong experience in shaftline works, propulsion troubleshooting, and technical supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair propulsion and drivetrain system faults
  
• Lead inspection and repair of shaftline, bearings, seals, couplings, and stern tube systems
  
• Support propeller and steering system repairs and installation activities
  
• Perform alignment checks and support commissioning and trials
  
• Plan and supervise propulsion works during drydock operations
  
• Coordinate with engineering, machining, and electrical teams
  
• Produce technical reports, inspection findings, and job close-out documents
  

Requirements

• Qualification in Marine Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  
• Minimum 5+ years experience in propulsion repair and shipyard operations
  
• Strong understanding of alignment, tolerances, and marine propulsion systems
  
• Ability to lead technicians and manage critical repair scopes
