Job Description

Visa is seeking a Manager, Global Communications to support communications initiatives across the company's Business, Brand and Technology Communications teams.


This role offers the opportunity to work at the center of some of the most important trends shaping global commerce, including artificial intelligence, digital identity, real-time money movement and the future of payments. The successful candidate will help tell Visa's story to internal and external audiences while partnering across businesses, functions and geographies to advance key communications priorities.


The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with exceptional writing and storytelling skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and execute. This individual will support a broad range of communications activities spanning internal communications, executive communications, thought leadership, major business announcements, employee engagement and external storytelling.


The successful candidate thrives in a high-pressure, fast-paced global environment, can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and is energized by collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality work. This is an excellent opportunity for a communications professional looking to broaden their experience across multiple disciplines while playing an integral role on a high-performing global team.

Essential Functions:

  • Support communications initiatives across Visa's Business, Brand and Technology Communications teams.
  • Help develop and execute integrated communications plans for key business priorities, announcements, programs and events.
  • Draft and edit a wide range of communications materials, including employee communications, leadership messages, presentations, talking points, FAQs, executive briefing materials, articles, announcements and external content.
  • Support executive communications and visibility efforts, including internal and external speaking engagements, leadership communications and thought leadership activities.
  • Assist with planning and execution for employee engagement initiatives, organizational announcements, town halls and other internal communications programs.
  • Project manage multiple communications workstreams, helping ensure deadlines, milestones and deliverables are achieved.
  • Coordinate with communications colleagues around the world to support global alignment and execution.
  • Support development of messaging, storytelling and content across a variety of channels and audiences.
  • Assist in tracking communications results, reporting metrics and identifying opportunities to improve performance.
  • Support agency partners and external vendors as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with partners across communications, marketing, product, legal, human resources and business teams.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture while supporting day-to-day communications operations and execution.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • 5-8 years of communications, public relations or media relations experience.
  • Experience in a communications or public relations agency environment required.
  • Proven track record of securing top-tier earned media coverage and delivering measurable media results.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing proactive media relations campaigns that influence industry, customer and stakeholder perceptions.
  • Established relationships with business, financial, technology, consumer and trade media strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of today's evolving media ecosystem, including traditional media, digital platforms, newsletters, Substack, podcasts, X and emerging creator-led channels.
  • Digital-native mindset with experience identifying opportunities and trends across both established and non-traditional communications platforms.
  • Strong understanding of how stories move across media, social and influencer ecosystems.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly matrixed global organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to build credibility with senior leaders and partners.
  • Experience managing agency relationships and budgets.
  • Excellent judgment, strong news instincts and a passion for storytelling.
  • Financial services, fintech, technology or payments industry experience preferred.
  • Curious, proactive and energized by emerging technologies and the trends shaping the future of commerce.


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $129,200.00 to $ 206,700.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Hours

Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
