Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Manager, Clinical Services Periop, you will provide leadership and direction to a multidisciplinary team of perioperative nurses and technicians, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices and regulatory standards. You will develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures to optimize patient outcomes and operational workflows. Every day you will manage staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. You will also monitor key performance indicators, analyze clinical data, and implement process improvements to enhance patient safety and satisfaction. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in perioperative nursing, exceptional leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. You will effectively collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other departments, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care and efficient resource utilization.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Licensure and Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, and current healthcare provider BLS certification.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of four years of related nursing experience, including at least two years in a charge nurse, leadership, or equivalent management position.
  • Clinical and Perioperative Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of nursing principles, clinical competencies, standards of care, and the specific tools, protocols, and practices required for perioperative clinical nursing.
  • Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Proficiency in FHS policies, healthcare delivery methodologies, legal/accreditation requirements, and medical necessity/coding conventions, with the ability to proactively address compliance deficiencies.
  • Leadership and Staff Management: Proven ability to supervise and develop personnel, including hiring, coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, and the ability to serve as a role model to foster a productive team environment.
  • Operational and Data Analysis: Ability to analyze financial and operational reports, utilize data to identify systemic weaknesses, and implement effective, data-driven responses to drive performance improvement.
  • Technical and Systems Proficiency: Expertise in the functionality and application of electronic medical records (EMR), office equipment, and automated software necessary to manage daily operations and document care accurately.
  • Strategic Communication and Problem-Solving: Advanced ability to define problems, interpret complex requirements, communicate clearly, and maintain flexibility while effectively prioritizing multiple demands in high-stress, fast-paced environments.

Preferred

  • BSN or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Specialty certification (e.g. Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN)
