Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our LPN II, Physician Practice, you will provide professional, quality medical care to patients under the direct supervision of assigned physician(s), based on structured guidelines and protocols. Every day you will support physicians by rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting data, communicating delays, and facilitating patient flow. You will also perform patient care support activities like scheduling tests/exams/surgery and obtaining preauthorizations, and assume lead responsibility for the practice's safety program, documentation standards, and clinical competency validation. To be successful in this role, you will be a Licensed Practical Nurse with strong clinical support skills for physician practice, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, meticulous attention to detail in patient care coordination and documentation, and a commitment to patient safety and organizational mission/core values.
- Consistently performs accurate assessments based on the patient's condition, critically analyzing trends of changes in patient response, communicating information to the responsible physician.
- Effectively performs a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to wound care, medication administration, specimen collection, etc.
- Establishes competence and safely performs therapeutic/diagnostic procedures including drawing blood specimens and administering medications as directed by the physician.
- Documents ongoing status, interventions, patient response, and outcomes in an accurate, timely manner according to established policy and procedure.
- Demonstrates the ability to participate in developing a plan of care in collaboration with the physician and other medical providers according to patient needs, established standards of care, and procedures of the unit.
- Assists physicians with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Licensed Practical Nurse
- Basic Life Support through American Heart Association
- One (1) year experience in medical office or ambulatory services/outpatient clinic setting
Preferred
- IV Therapy State IV Certification upon hire or within three (3) months of hire/transfer
