Job Title: Lead Data Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking aLead Data Engineerwith strong expertise inSnowflake and modern cloud data architecturesto design and lead the development of scalable, high-performance data platforms. The role will focus on implementingMedallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)to support enterprise analytics, data governance, and advanced data use cases.
The ideal candidate will define engineering standards, and build reliable data pipelines that power reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Architecture
- Design and implement scalabledata platforms using Snowflake.
- Build and maintainMedallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers)to support curated enterprise datasets.
- Develop and optimizeELT pipelines within Snowflake.
- Architectdata ingestion frameworkssupporting batch and near real-time data processing.
- Define enterprisedata engineering standards for Snowflake.
- Drivecost governance and performance optimization within Snowflake.
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
- Build and maintainhigh-performance data pipelinesfor ingesting and transforming large-scale datasets.
- Optimizequery performance, storage, and compute costs.
- Designdimensional and analytical data models.
- DevelopGold layer data martsto support BI and analytics platforms.
- Enableself-service analyticsthrough curated datasets.
- Maintaindata documentation, lineage tracking, and impact analysis.
- Ensure compliance with enterprisedata governance policies.
Leadership & Engineering Standards
- Lead and mentor a team ofdata engineers.
- Establishcoding standards, data pipeline best practices, and design guidelines.
- Conductarchitecture reviews and code reviews.
- Work closely withbusiness stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements intoscalable data engineering solutions.
- Support analytics and reporting initiatives withtrusted and governed datasets.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise inSnowflake Data Cloud.
- AdvancedSQL development and performance optimization.
- Experience buildingELT pipelinesin modern data platforms.
- Strong experience withPython for data engineering, data orchestration tools(Airflow, etc.) &cloud platforms(AWS / Azure / GCP).
- Experience supportingML data pipelines and feature stores.
- Experience implementingMedallion Architecture:
- CI/CD for data pipelines, Git-based version control
Experience
- 8–12 years of experiencein data engineering or data platform development.
- 3+ years leading data engineering teams or large-scale data initiatives.
- Hands-on experience deliveringSnowflake-based enterprise data platforms.
- Strong stakeholder communication
- Ability to drivedata platform strategy and best practices
