Job DescriptionThis is a remote position.The Lead Process Engineer oversees the redesign and digitization of complex business workflows for a large operational modernization program. This role leads process engineering efforts, collaborates with IT and business stakeholders, ensures quality and compliance, and drives the transition from manual, paper-based processes to streamlined digital systems. Key Responsibilities: Lead full lifecycle process redesign initiatives from analysis through implementation. Assess current-state workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with business units, IT teams, and executive leadership. Design optimized future-state digital workflows aligned with organizational goals and user needs. Ensure redesigned processes meet quality, compliance, security, and accessibility standards. Create project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and milestone tracking for engineering tasks. Drive stakeholder engagement and communication to ensure alignment and adoption. Develop documentation such as process maps, gap analyses, corrective action plans, and integration roadmaps. Support change management activities and guide teams through workflow transitions. Provide leadership and oversight to process engineers and analysts supporting the program. RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. 7+ years of experience in process engineering or business process optimization. Proven experience transitioning organizations from manual to digital workflows. Experience collaborating with internal IT departments on workflow automation and system integration. Understanding of labor relations considerations (union environments preferred). Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. Experience developing process documentation (As-Is/To-Be maps, diagrams, SOPs, etc.). Familiarity with digital platforms such as SharePoint, Power Automate, or ServiceNow (preferred).
