Intermodal Logistics Coordinator

Description

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide quotes and routes for inland container movements; secure rates; facilitate inland movement of containers via Rail, Truck, Barge; setting up invoices in SAP, transmitting rail bills.

Main Tasks:

• Provide accurate quotes/rates for intermodal freight, bids and spot business.
• Support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding the most cost effective and efficient routing for new and existing business.
• Recommend changes in routing when alternate routes are preferred.
• Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes.
• Update ZIMAPS quarterly and for missing costs as needed.
• Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship. Create routes when auto routing is missing, expired, or not logical.
• Update costs in routes when missing.
• Manage changes to specific vendors/routing in day to day as required.
• Execute & manage rail billings, and resolve problems as they arise.

o Optimize Inland Routing

o Timely response to Commercial Team Routing Requests

o Usage of least expensive trucker

• Routing, Rec/TO Maintenance

o Resolve unrouted requisitions within 1 day when B/L is valid, but route does not exist.

o Resolve unrouted requisitions within 2 days when a manifest corrector is required for B/L or booking.

o Resolve manual TO’s so none are over 1 week.

• Rail Billing

o Process rail bill requests within 2 hours of receipt

Requirements

• High School Degree, Bachelor’s (a plus).

• 3 years’ experience preferred in various LOG operating positions.

• Logistics / Operation experience in Container Shipping industry (a plus).
