Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our HVAC Technician, you will install, operate, and maintain all heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems, including medical air compressors, to provide a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment. Every day you will perform specialized HVAC diagnostics and repairs, maintain medical air compressors, assist with general maintenance (minor electrical, plumbing, safety testing), and mentor/coach staff, ensuring optimal climate control and indoor air quality across the facility. To be successful in this role, you will possess expert technical skills in HVAC systems and medical air compressors, a strong understanding of safety and operational efficiency, and the ability to work independently while providing excellent customer service and mentoring other facilities staff.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
- Monitors HVAC systems and operations, ensuring accurate completion of preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and meets all applicable codes.
- Comprehensive understanding of equipment operation, building systems, emergency procedures, and the ability to successfully provide service as needed.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of documentation in Computer Maintenance Management System, i.e., work orders, equipment, and area records.
- Ability to provide oncall coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Two (2) years of experience in commercial HVAC installation, service and repair of hospital facilities or healthcare construction
- Strong communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English
- Basic computer skills
- Current, valid Driver License
Preferred
- Apprenticeship or technical degree in a facilities related field
- Current Refrigeration Journeyman License
